Independent Higher Education Australia (IHEA) acknowledges today (24 January) as 'International Day of Education' as proclaimed by the United Nations (UN) General Assembly.
International Day of Education is a celebration of the role of education for peace and development.
Of the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) established by the UN in 2015, Global Goal 4 / SDG 4 is about quality education. The full title of SDG 4 is "Ensure inclusive and equitable quality education and promote lifelong learning opportunities for all".
Australia's world-class higher education sector, consisting of public and independent institutions, provides opportunity and access to a quality education for domestic and international students.
IHEA’s members are Australia’s quality independent higher education providers – committed to excellence in teaching, learning, student support, and skills development.
All IHEA members are registered and accredited by the Tertiary Education Quality and Standards Agency (TEQSA) – the national quality assurance and government regulatory agency for higher education.
