IHEA Continues to Grow with the Addition of Five New Members

Independent Higher Education Australia (IHEA) welcomes five new members with the addition of APEX Institute of Higher Education, Ikon Institute of Australia, National Academy of Professional Studies (NAPS), Sheridan Institute of Higher Education, and Universal Higher Education.

This follows the addition of new member Ozford Institute of Higher Education in December last year.

“We are delighted to welcome these new members to IHEA," said IHEA CEO, Dr Peter Hendy.

“Our membership continues to grow in line with the recognition that IHEA is the leading voice for the future direction of Australia’s independent higher education sector.”

“Australia’s independent higher education sector includes independent universities, university colleges, and for-profit and not-for-profit higher education providers committed to excellence in teaching, learning, student support, as well as skills development.”

“As the Federal Government embarks on a comprehensive review of Australia's higher education sector under Minister Jason Clare, IHEA's vital role in championing independent providers will be more important than ever. Independent institutions not only expand educational choices for students, but also empower under-represented cohorts to seize life-changing opportunities and contribute to a highly skilled Australian workforce, ensuring our nation's continued success in the global landscape."

“I am confident that our new members will make a valuable contribution to IHEA’s collective effort to advance the work of independent higher education providers, and the sector more broadly.”

IHEA's full members must be registered and accredited by the Tertiary Education Quality and Standards Agency (TEQSA) – the national quality assurance and government regulatory agency for higher education.

IHEA’s full members include:

• Independent Universities.
• University Colleges.
• Institutes of Higher Education.
