IHEA Notes Moves Progressing the Return of Chinese International Students to Australia

Independent Higher Education Australia (IHEA) notes the recent decision in China in effect fast tracking the return of Chinese international students who remain outside of Australia.

“IHEA welcomes moves progressing the return of Chinese students to study at Australian campuses,” said IHEA CEO, Dr Peter Hendy.

“We acknowledge the likelihood of transitional and logistical issues that students, Australian education providers, and relevant government departments will need to work through.”

“We also note the Chinese Government made a further statement overnight with some more flexibility for students returning to Australia.”

“IHEA stands ready to work with the government and our independent higher education providers to assist with the return of Chinese students, and other international students, to Australia.”
