Submission: Dept of Industry Science and Resources Horizon Europe Implementation Discussion Paper

IHEA's submission was lodged with the Department of Industry on 17 September as part of its consultation on the implementation of Horizon Europe.

The submission argues that all eligible Australian higher education providers should have an equal opportunity to participate in Horizon Europe, including private universities, university colleges and other non-university higher education providers. In particular, it recommends that independent providers have equal access to government support and any financial assistance; that appropriate support is available to smaller and specialised providers; and that IHEA and the independent higher education sector be included in the outreach network.

It is also recommended that support be made available to help providers develop the expertise needed to participate, that national priorities should not unnecessarily narrow participation and that the Government track participation across different types of higher education providers.
