Submission on Tuition Protection Service Draft Legislation 2019
Read IHEA’s submission to the Senate Employment and Education Legislation Committee.
IHEA welcomed the Senate’s decision in October to refer draft legislation affecting the Tuition Protection Service (TPS) to the Senate Education Committee for further consideration, and our submission to the Committee is available below.
Student equity and a streamlined regulatory environment are important priorities for the sector, and IHEA members were concerned at the potential for unintended consequences for the sector arising from elements of the proposed legislation.
IHEA’s submission to the Committee argues for a broader and more equitable TPS, which would provide the same protections to all students in higher education, and reduce the regulatory burden on the sector.
Our IHEA News keeps you up to date with the latest higher education information, policies, comments and IHEA submissions.
